Okay, just to show I'm still here...

I've gotten over the cold that smacked me most of the first week of March, thank God. In the meantime, I've been working at my job trying to improve my performance so I can see what else the place has to offer (I'll be at the six-month mark in April, so hopefully there could be some great things!).

I also finished a short story that, while I wanted to write it, am not sure what to do with it. It's about a young woman having a final showdown with a serial killer that had been stalking her for part of her life. I can already hear the criticism from people asking me why writing about something like this is necessary. Hell, my mom would probably ask the same question. I wonder if Joyce Carol Oates gets that question a lot. (My bet is yes. Yes she does,)

But you know what bugs me the most about the short story? I hate the title. It is made of concentrated "make 'em say ugh".

Fun fact: I wrote about 3K of this while waiting for calls at my job. Hell yeah.

Otherwise...

 that I actually got something done.

Now to give it a better name, edit it, and maybe publish it?  Okay, not sure on the last one.

Sorry that I haven't posted anything in a while, well, other than a response to my best of movie post below this one. Yeah, that kinda went well, didn't it? Holy mackerel.

Either way, I still have plans for various posts, including one detailing something I mentioned in my comment in the previous post. I'll have to think it over and see if it's a good idea to post about it.

Hello again, world!

I've been busy these days, sorry for not much on here. I've been working on another novel, prepping for NaNoWriMo, my second go at getting into grad school, working my job (which now involves working in the bargain books area!), and catching up on my movie-watching, my book-reading, and music-listening. Okay, so a lot of stuff, along with cleaning my home and rearranging things. Just the usual adult stuff... well, I think it is adult. I'll have to come back to y'all on that.

I'll talk more about NaNoWriMo: Round Two, along with "Grad School, You Have to Accept Me" in the future. Not sure what to do about my reviews blog. It's been silent for a long time. Perhaps a nuanced review of the new Silent Hill movie, or perhaps something different?

Change of plans for "24 Reviews..."

I will hold off reviewing Casual Gods and 1Q84 until after "24 Reviews..." is done. After realizing that I haven't reviewed much female-created works, I have decided to change the plans a bit and honor my sisters in writing and music. Won't mention who, in fear of jinxing it. Be prepared. It's all arriving soon...

A brief note

Things have gone upside for me in the last week or so. This is why I haven't updated since the Reading Challenge review. I plan on unleashing more reviews upon this fair site, along with the usual posts of randomness y'all have come to enjoy(?).

On a side note, I ordered the English versions of Haruki Murakami's two earliest novels. And yes, I'll be reading those for the Challenge. Awesome!

And so, today marks my 24th year of existing. So far, this living thing is interesting. I've learned a lot so far, done so many things, and encountered all different kinds of viewpoints and people. I look forward to more years of living and learning.
