Your Heart Belongs to Me by Dean Koontz
The Given Day by Dennis Lehane
I'm letting myself get one of these before year's end. Which one would you recommend?

Wow, I've never even heard of these books.
I have no idea what to recommend... if I had to choose one for me, I'd read "The Given Day." But I think you'd like "Your Heart Belongs to Me."
